RM.22 understands the unique bicycle industry culture and how to make it commercially successful, getting the balance between ‘Keeping it REAL and commercial REALity' is our speciality.
RM.22 is a bicycle industry-specific consultancy drawing on the multi-national and multi-channel experience of Russell Merry (RM). Twenty-Two was Russell’s race number in the burgeoning sport of BMX during the early 1980s at his hometown track of Poole, UK.
Russell and his family founded a BMX retailer from the forecourt of a petrol station that went on to be a prominent BMX specialist retailer (featured in We Were Rad) growing into a leading UK bicycle distributor of brands such as GT, Mongoose and Wethepeople as well as being creators of the pioneering brand Charge Bikes.
Hot Wheels was sold to Dorel in 2009 and Russell became Joint Managing Director leaving in 2013. Russell returned to Dorel Rec/Leisure (Sports) in 2014 as a member of the global Senior Leadership Team travelling to Europe and Brazil as part of his duties.
Whilst holding the position of UK Managing Director Russell also had a period as General Manager CSG North America (Key Accounts, Retail, Canada) and Global Head Parts and Accessories (product development). Russell has experience in IBD, Sporting Goods and Mass Merchant channels in multiple geographies and a proven track record of success.

Russell has connections across the industry around the world and can help with commercial operations, sourcing and product development. Resources to help create products and bring them to market are available from third party connections.
